Freedom does not sustain itself. People carry it forward. Programs strengthen it. Institutions protect it, invest in it, and make sure it endures for the next generation. The 1791 Foundation exists to do exactly that.
As a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the 1791 Foundation strengthens the Second Amendment by investing in the programs, communities, and institutions that keep it alive in practice, not just in principle. This work is not theoretical. Instead, it happens every day in classrooms, on ranges, in conservation areas, and in communities across the country.
The name 1791 is intentional. In 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified, including the Second Amendment. That history still matters today because freedom requires active participation, continued education, and long-term investment.
For decades, this mission has made a measurable difference. Through grantmaking and partnerships, hundreds of millions of dollars have supported initiatives in all 50 states, reached millions of Americans, and reinforced the infrastructure behind a freedom that requires continued engagement.
Today, the 1791 Foundation carries that work forward with renewed clarity, purpose, and focus.
Our approach is simple: fund what works, support what lasts, and invest in the future.
The 1791 Foundation directs resources to programs that show real impact: education and training, competitive shooting and conservation, range development, legal education, and the next generation of responsible firearm owners, athletes, and leaders.
Education creates confidence, responsibility, and preparedness. That is why we support programs that expand access to firearm education and training for individuals, law enforcement, and community leaders.
Through these efforts, more people gain the knowledge, skills, and discipline needed to handle firearms safely and responsibly. As a result, communities become stronger, better prepared, and more informed.
The 1791 Foundation also supports competitive shooting at every level, from local programs to national competition. These programs build discipline, focus, leadership, and respect for a tradition that continues to shape lives across the country.
In addition, conservation remains a vital part of this work. Hunting, outdoor education, and land stewardship connect generations of Americans to the outdoors. By supporting conservation efforts, the Foundation helps preserve access, tradition, and responsibility for years to come.
A strong future depends on those who will carry this mission forward.
For that reason, the 1791 Foundation invests in youth programs that introduce young people to shooting sports, firearm safety, responsibility, and leadership. These programs do more than teach skills. They create opportunities, build confidence, and help the next generation understand the importance of active participation.
The Second Amendment remains strong when people stay engaged. It does not endure through words alone. Instead, it requires education, participation, and institutions committed to protecting the infrastructure behind it.
That means supporting programs that teach safe and responsible firearm use. It means creating opportunities for young people to learn, compete, and grow. It means providing resources for those who train, serve, and lead. It also means protecting the outdoor traditions and conservation efforts that keep this work connected to American life.
Without that infrastructure, the foundation weakens over time. Therefore, the role of the 1791 Foundation is clear: strengthen it, sustain it, and prepare it for what comes next.
The 1791 Foundation invests with discipline and intention. We evaluate every grant for alignment, impact, and measurable outcomes. Then, we direct funding to organizations doing real work on the ground, where results can be seen, measured, and sustained.
We also take stewardship seriously. Every dollar entrusted to the Foundation should move the mission forward. Because of that, we remain focused on transparency, accountability, and long-term impact.
Supporting the 1791 Foundation means investing in something built to endure.
Your support helps fund programs that already make a difference in communities across the country. More importantly, it helps ensure those programs continue to grow, reach more people, and strengthen the future of the Second Amendment.
This is not about maintaining the status quo. Rather, it is about building the foundation for what comes next.
If you believe this work matters, the 1791 Foundation is the place for you.
Stand with us. Help build something that endures.
